What is Entertaiment?
Entertaiment is something which makes you forget your worries, carries you away to the next world in an euphoric state and leaves you wanting that it never ends. It is an activity that requires consumer activity. It can be an idea, a task or any event that has developed over thousands of years specifically for the purpose of keeping the audience’s attention. The word comes from the medieval Latin intertenere, a contraction of the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere, which is related to the Indo-European root ten, which means to stretch or expand.
According to Bates and Ferri (2010) entertainment is an activity that is understood objectively, entails communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, off ers pleasure, requires an audience for existence and occurs in a passive form.
